TIMES STAFF REPORT
You’ve been waiting for that special movie to come out for months. You’ve seen the trailer a dozen times, and it never gets old. Well, grab some popcorn and candy and plop yourself down in a dream lounger seat to soak it all in on the big screen.
That’s what Joe Cordie, general manager at Marcus Parkwood Cinema in Waite Park, invites you to do. The Times asked Cordie to share his thoughts on what made Parkwood the 2016 winner in Best Family Recreation & Entertainment.
Last year, Marcus Parkwood Cinema won the Best Family Recreation & Entertainment category. Why are the movies such a great family activity?
Movies give the opportunity for them to take time out of their busy days and enjoy a family outing where we take care of everything.
What is YOUR favorite movie, and why?
“The Transporter” comes to mind, but I would say I enjoy many films that have a lot of action where I lose track of time. A great movie for me is when I don’t pay attention to the how long it is and when it’s over I realize I have just watched a movie for 21/2 hours or however long it is!
What do you want Times readers to know about your business that they might not already know?
Beyond showing new released movies and alternative content weekly, our facility is one that can host a private screening/events for big and small groups.
